Hi All,

Any idea where I might find a back for an 8x10 Korona I recently bought off of Ebay? It looks to be in really good shape but it is coming with a 5x7 reducing back. I am going to use it for wet plate and when I shoot smaller I will just use an insert or a modified holder. Also, any sources for the extension rail? Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Keith

A regular 8x10 back probably won't work properly for wet plate. If the WP older fits, the T dimension will probably not be correct.

You might want to have the Star camera company build you a suitable back and holder for the camera. That will ensure they are in proper sync. If you have an old holder, they can fabricate a back to fir both the camera and the holder.

Look for extension rail on eBay; but be aware that even within Koronas the rails do vary in absolute width and location of connections. I got a Korona extension rail with proper width for my 8X10 Korona; but had to slightly alter location of the two metal connections that fit into the base.
