Hi, all -

I've got an 8 bit greyscale image in CS2. Convert it to duotone. Gosh - purty. Go to "Save for Web" to output it as a JPG, and the duotone info is lost, and the image reverts to grey.

Any ideas?

1. Create duotone the way you do.

2. Convert to RGB (8-bit)

3. Convert profile to sRGB (Convert to Profile is different from Assign Profile - make sure you convert!)

4. Save for Web

Nope. Still reverts to grey. Though it was in CMYK space. Not sure how that one happened...

Scott, it can't be in CMYK if you converted it to RGB.... as Marko said:

1. Create duotone the way you do.

2. Convert to RGB (8-bit) - do this under Image>Mode>RGB Color

3. Convert profile to sRGB (Convert to Profile is different from Assign Profile - make sure you convert!) - do this under Edit>Convert to Profile> pick sRGB from the dropdown

4. Save for Web

This works - you must be doing a step wrong

Tim, I'm following those steps precisiely. Not working. Maybe it's time to reinstall CS2?
