Ilford SFX 200: Process as soon as possible after exposure... Heed this warning?

Hi, I really can't make sense of this warning. I could understand if the film came sealed in an airtight plastic bag, but it doesn't. I am taking a few rolls of this interior camping next weekend and won't be able to develop it for a few days. Is this a warning I should follow? Could I let it sit a few weeks? Help computer!

Help computer!Instructions on all Ilford films I have (Delta 100 + 400, FP4, SFX) all say to process soon after exposure. I take it as a general "best-practice" suggestion rather than an absolute requirement. I've often had film sit for a couple of weeks in the fridge (although I think I read that cold does not much effect latent image deterioration) before developing it - but not SFX200 which I think I have always developed within a couple of days the few times I have used it.

I *think* you'll be fine, unless anyone has practical experience to the contrary.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep it in a dark and cool place. I developed SFX after a month of sitting in my camera bag while I pranced around the UK one summer.

I agree. I've processed it a year later with no apparent ill effects.
