Greetings.

I bought a 360mm Schneider Tele-Xenar 5.5, non coated, in a compound shutter in fine condition. The serial number is 205878. According to Schneider's website this would place it's date of manufacture as 1928. Is this correct? Given its' condition it doesn't seem that old. Plus, I wasn't even aware that Telephoto designs were in production this early. Is there a separate serial number/date list for this model lens?

Thanks.

No, there's no separate serial number list - except if your lens was made by Schneider Göttingen instead of Schneider Kreuznach. Schneider Göttingen is now called "ISCO".
