I'm trying to find out what size shutter the graflex XL series lenses use.

I believe the mounting hole size is about 42mm. Does that make them a Copal #1?

Thanks,

What do you mean? Cell size or board hole size? I don't think any of the Graflex shutters are standardized.

Here are some Copal size charts from SKGrimes' website:

Board hole size. I believe the mount is about 42mm. I'm wanting to buy an old shutter to go in an old mount as a basis for pinhole work. So I'm trying to figure what size shutter I need.

Thanks

42mm is just a little over #1 size.

Well then, now I need to find a cheap old #1 Copal shutter....

Some other make of #1 might be cheaper. Compur, Prontor or Seiko.

Thanks Ernest,
For my purposes, anything at all that will trip the shutter on T or even B will be fine.
Time to check out fleabay.

Not sure if a shutter is the best way for pinhole photography. With ultra-wide focal lengths the shutter might vignette due to the thickness.

I've seen good results from people down to 38mm on 6x9 at least.
On my Graflex, it'll be about 65mm on 6x9.
