If you've been feeling blue lately over paying high Ebay prices for vintage LF stuff, then this will cheer you up...it could have been a lot worse! :)

Not bad for finding the proverbial old camera in the closet, so to speak...

Wow.

It's says it's the most expensive "commerical photographic apparatus" does that mean most expensive period?

I wonder if he plans to use it. After all, even being the oldest camera, it's still just an expensive paperweight if it's not used. It sure would be a test of the argument about what's more important with an image, the camera or the photographer.

Can you imagine taking it to a shop and asking, "Do you think I can get film holder for this camera?", and "What film would you recommend?" Honestly, I think it would be cool to see it used again to see what technology can do with an older camera. After all, even at Peeble Beach, they require the show cars to work, or at least drive far enough to be seen.

What's good a camera that isn't used? Ok, it's historical, but it's still a camera.

No, commercial photo satellites cost more.

It's just an ugly black box with some kind of lens in front. I wouldn't bother to pay that much for it.
You can do a whole lot of other things with the money :)

Geert, when you have that kind of money to spend, there is only so much food to eat, so much gas to buy, so many houses to live in.....:p

That's a LOT of dough for a camera with no movements. Does it come in a lighter model more suited to backpacking?
