The new Linhof Technika 3000 has built-in infinity stops for 38, 47, and 58 mm SAxl lenses.

If one is contemplating using the 3000 with a 58 mm lens, could one also consider using a 55 mm Grandagon instead of the 58 mm SAxl? Or is one stuck with using only the 58 mm SAxl?

(the 55 mm has a larger image circle than the 58 mm, and covers 4X5 fully at infinity at f11, vs. f22 for the 58 mm).

Is the Technika 3000 out in stores yet? If not, when will it be available?

You can easily use the 35mm, 45mm and 55mm lenses but the built-in infinity stops for the Schneider lenses would not be used.

You would then use the 3000 with the Rodenstock lenses the same way the 2000 is used with those lenses.

The 3000 is in our stock for delivery to any dealer of ours in the USA. You could have it as soon as Friday. Unless you are in the NY Metropolitan area. Then your dealer could arrange for you to pick it up at our office tomorrow.

If there really is a new MT3000 why doesn't Linhof bother to update their website? Certainly the Krauts are more efficient than this.

It is on the Linhof web site plus I have mentioned it several times since it was introduced at Photokina last year.

See http://www.linhof.de/download/LINHOF_NEWS_06-e.pdf for information on all of the new items like the 3000, the Technika shift back for digital, the shift system for the Technorama 617 S III, the new 110mm lens for the 617 S III, etc.

I checked with a dealer (tincheungcamera) in Hong Kong, and they told me it's been available for a while. It just costs about $35,700HK (~$4,600USD), $2,000HK more than MT2000, sounds pretty good.

Happiness does not come in pills dude (nor bottles for that matter).

But does happiness come from using a Master Technika 3000?
