View Full Version : Anyone know how to get the "Clamshell" cover off of a Toyo 45AX?

Hi All,

I recently acquired a Toyo 45AX as part of a trade - the camera is in generally good shape, with one major exception. The front focusing knob axle is loose, having broken a couple of clips holding it in place. This axle sits is in the clamshell cover that holds the tripod mount (and if the camera is closed would become the front of the camera covering the lens). There is a plastic cover over this clamshell, that I need to remove to get in and replace the clips - it looks like a simple repair if I could get the cover off, but I can't figure out if it is simply glued on, or if it is held in place by some screws or something that I'm not finding. Anyone know how to get this front cover off?

Thanks!
Bill
