Hi there,
one of the spirit levels of my F2 dried. Does anyone know where to get a replacement part and how to replace it?
best wishes,
Jan

I got a couple of them at this place in Palo Alto, Ca. They cost about $40.00 each

Have you tried Sinar Bron in NJ?

Sinar Bron has them. Call, don't e-mail.

I think I paid $32 for Cambo levels from Calument, so another 8 for Sinar seems cheap.:-) Wonder what Linhof would be?

Are they any better then Home Depot ones?

It is difficult to make a bad level, he principal is so simple, I used a couple of small key chain levels that I bought at Home Depot for a buck a piece and they work fine, now if your into original equipment and want to keep your camera pure, then off course you will have to buy the OE parts.

Well, the Sinar levels fit the Sinar and are easy to install without requiring any adaptation. Of course you could just use an ordinary level to level the camera in the same way you would any camera, but one of the attractions of a Sinar is having built-in levels.

Call to check on the cost. They aren't all the same price. I had to replace two on my Sinar P, and one was around $40 and the other one was something like $20--I suspect just because it was older stock.

If the plastic level body is intact you may try to use a syringe needle (like diavetic's use) heat it and inject it onto the end of the level, then inject enugh anti freeze (the color makes it a lot more visible) to re-create the right size buble.Afterwards remove the needle and plase a litle glue to seal the entry point.

or you can now buy them on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/3x-Level-bubble-Spirit-Sinar-P2-P-X-F2-F1-cameras-/140499522687?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b66c947f#ht_2017wt_1077) for a little less money:

I have 2 -axis bubble levels on both standards of my camera, but I found that using a torpedo level improved leveling dramatically.
