Does anyone here shoot tethered? Do you use a shade? Any recommendations?

I am looking at: http://www.seaportdigital.com/ivisorProducts.html

Did you check out Canham's (http://www.canhamcameras.com/Bellows.html)? I've been thinking about getting one of them, although the ones you linked look like they might collapse and store more easily.

How about some black foamcore? Easy DIY project...

...or your dark cloth?!

Colin,
Canhan is actually made by that bellows company in England. I looked at it at last years VC Conference as Lee Filters also sells them. They are a bit heavy (I worry about the screen hinge) and they do not make one for the MacBook Pro series yet.

Paul,
That is just not a viable solution for daily field trips with clients on site.

Michael,

Does that fit a 15 inch MacBook Pro?

Yup. These hoods are available for sale on many Mac-only sites.

<Does anyone here shoot tethered?>

Kirk, a movie stills photographer i assist with had the agent request we capture tethered recently (4-600 Raws+large Jpegs per day). Our feeling was that it gummed up the works. Back downloading from the cards for now.

We use a shade almost always.

Calumet has the i-visor pro on sale for $119.00. That may be cheaper than a lesser quality one from Seaport. I have been debating getting one myself, and actually just now ordered one.

David, We shoot tethered always for clients. The only hassle is when we have to change locations a little bit.

Kirk,

I have been using the Pro version for about three years and have no complaints. It sets up quickly, is compact and light and holds all that I need computer wise for location shooting. I was using a Hoodman before and this is much more efficient with better viewing under harsh lighting.

Hi Kirk,

That would be the Seaport I-Visor Pro version.

Roderick,

Sorry, I am confused, the pro version of which?
