There's a new photography gallery in New York City called the Point of View Gallery. http://www.pointofviewartgallery.com
The work there is more edgy and contemporary than I'm used to...even for Chelsea. I recently attended one of their receptions for their second exhibition and I must say, it's quite interesting. Cecilia Jurado is on exhibition currently...there's really no way for me to explain his work, you just have to see it.
Speaking of new galleries, there is a new gallery opening in Los Angeles, called the Gallery of Italian Photography. Their website is not up, yet, but according to the owner, the website should be up within the next couple of months announcing the opening exhibition to take place this Autumn. The one theme to this gallery is, of course, all of the photographers who exhibit here are Italian. http://niletuzungallery.com/
