I haven't seen any recent thread discussing this, the search reports only stuff over a year old so I'm posting this to try to get "up to date" data on which gear to get..

+ What goggle make/model work best ?
+ Issues with the infrared onboard LEDS / fog ?
+ Infrared lightboxes and acrylic trays is a good idea ?

So please people who use this method, contribute your own gear/methods; I'd like to get some equipment in the near future...

I use an IR viewing device. See info here. (http://www.kennethleegallery.com/html/tech/index.php#Monocular)

I wonder if you could use the infrared "night vision" function on a video camera, viewing through the viewfinder or onboard, flip-out screen?

Definitely. My recollection may be faulty, but the box in which my unit shipped, had an illustration of that very thing.
