Fastest lenses for 4x5 and 8x10?

Who has used these cameras handheld and how do they rate the $5,000 + prices they fetch? Asked with no malice, just would like to know why other cameras can't deo the same for less? I do respect and value workmanship. Just would like to know if anyone here can share their experience woth or love of these cool little beasts?
