Greetings to Shen-Hao HZX4X5 IIA 4x5 Users...

Quick question... can a Shen-Hao 5x7 back be mounted onto this camera?

[Reason I'm asking is because a Dorff 4x5 Special can accept a 5x7 back.]

I highly doubt it. Interior dimensions at the back are 5"x5". Exterior, 6 3/4"x 6 3/4".

Thanks for the answer... I suppose the Dorff Special was specially designed for the interchangeability between formats.

I was hoping the Shen-Hao was made with the same convertibility. :)

The dorff 4x5 special was exactly the same model as their 5x7 camera, just sold with a 4x5 back and a different plate on the front standard.

You could get a 5x7 camera and a 4x5 back for it. Most companies make reducing backs for their cameras.

Shen-Hao makes the 45 HZX and a distinct 57HZX, which has a 4x5 accessory reducing back available. You can come down, but you can't go up, apparently.

LOL , you hadn`t even considered this. :D

I use the FCL57 with a 4x5 reducing back, works great.
