Does anyone know if the attached metal case is easily removable? Not clear from brochure. Thanks in advance. John

I believe it is attached to the metal plate on the bottom which is an integral part of the Misura base rail. So to get rid of the clamshell, I think you need to purchase a separate base rail, like one from a compact.

Here are to links that might help clarify your questions about the camera.

Frankly, the Misura is kind of a wierd camera. My opinion. I thought that Arca really jumped their tracks when they came up with that camera. And, then they downgraded the size of their Classic F. Another mistake.

In my view, it would have been much better to keep the original Classic F for studio use and develop a smaller, lighter camera for field use.

I kind of agree, though I think the Monolith is an incredible studio tool. But I think I'd prefer my F-line for the field since I do use the rear movements, even if it does weigh a bit more than the Misura would...

I like the idea behind the design of this camera, especially in the leather case version. However, I think it misses on a few aspects. Perhaps if there was a matching leather film holder carrier, film case, or even another lens case, it would be a nice system. As it stands, it could be quite impressive to take on location for certain clients. It certainly looks quite expensive and special, though I know that gets beyond why some people get certain cameras to use.

Based upon a handful of reviews, it seems quite a capable camera. Packing it does not seem to be that easy, nor convenient, other than using the carrier that comes with it. Probably several field cameras are more compact, and can fit into various bags easier.

Would I want one . . . definitely. The problem I run into is that I don't have rational nor logical reasons for wanting one. Quite simply I like the idea and the execution of it . . . the design is wonderful.

Ciao!
