Setting Up a Compendium Shade

Can someone please walk through the steps? Specifically, how do you do this when you do not have cut ground-glass corners? I haven't had problems with vignetting, but probably could be getting more out of my shade by using more extension...

You could sight thru the lens if your ground glass doesn't have cut-corners. i.e. see all corners thru the taking aperture of the lens.
