Help indentifying barrel lens.

The markings in the picture are the only markings on the lens. Judging from the shape of the single element and the forward placement of the f-stop, it appears to be a simple meniscus landscape lens. Still, I'm curious about what B.C. Co. stands for. Any ideas?

It doesn't seem likely that it is a lens for the Billcliff (Joshua Billcliff, Manchester, England) camera. There was also the Boston Camera Co., bought by the Blair Camera Co. in 1890.
