At the moment I can only look at my new (used) AS 6x9 camera with no film back. The next step in the project is to get a sliding film back adapter, but these seem to be horrendously expensive.

Isn't there an affordable solution to allow the use of a Hass V film back (for example) on these cameras? I haven't found a solution under $2K yet, which is 6 times what I paid for the camera!

Thanks.

Why would you like to use (and pay for it) a Hassy back on your 6x9 AS? The cheapest Hassy 6x6 back you can find is your 6x9 back cut to 6x6...

I have no film back at the moment and it makes sense to get a sliding back adapter (preferably 645) which I can substitute for a digital back later in an almost seamless transition.

While there are RF backs 6x7 for the AS there are no 6x4,5 sliding backs.

That's disappointing. At least there is 6x6 (Hass V) - the Linhof Rapid Slide Changer

A firm "Kapture Group" makes adapter plates for digital backs and LF cameras. Check Ebay for ARCA Swiss and you will find one for Hassy with 6x9 Arca swiss. It's surely not a budget price though...
