I have many 6 x7 negs to scan and a life time of 35mm also. So does the Nikon coolscan compair to the Microtek Artixscan 100F.

Can't compare 'cause I've never used the Artixscan, but the Nikon Coolscan 8000 I use is great for the money.

I have the ArtixScan 120tf and have used it for a few years. I did not know they made a 100F. You can see examples of the scanning results on my websites. Anything that is not 4x5 format was scanned with the 120tf.

I think you mean the 120 too. It's a coin toss between the Microtek and a Nikon Coolscan 9000 but, while we haven't tested or used the 120 most research seems to indicate that the Nikon is the superior machine.

Buy a refurbed Imacon.

They're cheap and wicked awesome!

6months warrenty vs 1 year. Just drop the thing at 5 months and then get a new one.
