Just noticed that Mr Wehman has posted on his website a newer version of his 2006 model which weighs only 7.5 lbs. Essentially by drilling out many small holes he eliminated over a pound. Better hurry, as he only has one available for now. Just got my own camera from him a couple of months ago. I think I would have gone for the lower weight had he had it available at the time.
