Buying Efke PL25?

I've search all over, and I can't find anyone selling the Efke PL25. Can someone help, please? The Efke PL25 Ortho would be nice as well :)

You can find it labelled as Adox CHS 25 at www.fotoimpex.de, if I am not totally mistaken by all these hopeless name variations of the same film stock...

As far as I can see, they only sell the 25 ISO in 120 and 135 formats...

It's sometimes a good idea to ask him. If he doesn't have it in stock, maybe there will be more of us who ask for it? ;)

Just got some from JandC-they label it adox, swear it is Efke. I trust them.

Adox was the original company name dating back decades. The film was originally Adox KB14 (or was it 17 ... been a long time). The original company folded and the patents and manufacturing facilities were purchased by the current compay. They marketed the film as Adox in some parts of the world and as efke in others where the Adox trade name was owned by thers. In the past year the finally obtained the worldwide rights to the old trade name, logo and trademark and that is why you now are starting to see Adox everywhere.

I may have some of the details wrong and welcome all corections and additions. My first introduction to the film was ADOX KB 14 that I bought at Freestyle to "roll my own" sometime in the early 1970's. Remember that great crazy store from those days?

Efke is the new name for the old Adox film. I think there is still some branding using Adox name but it is now all Efke film. The link below is to the current maker which gives you all the details. I just had a look at the site which has changed drastically since I was last there. It used to have a lot of histry about the films but that seems to have disappeared and the site is in a partial state of build.
What you should know is that the film is an old style film and today it is considered a thick emulsion film which is rich in silver. The irony is, that in its day, it was considered a thin emulsion state of the art film. Manufacturers have strived for thinner and thinner emulsions because of the decreased diffusion that thin emulsions give. However, there are many who prefer the "look" that old style films give. As a thick emulsion film by todays standards, you should find that it will stain extremely well compared to t-grain films.

I called them, and they only had PL50, but he said he could order a pack of the PL25 at next order, so that is nice :)

I think Ted's right. Adox became Efke and now it seems its back to Adox.
