This sold on eBay not that long ago for $305 + S&H. (Item #7628021448, you can see it if you login. Also pictured below.) A steal. Has anyone seen another one? I've seen tripods like it (i.e. Ries) but this one was truly timeless. The tripod head was another fabulous feature with a geared crank to rotate and another to tilt. If one were to have an 11x14 camera (yeah, still talking about that) or larger there's no worry about the thing falling over when you loosen various knobs on the head.

Anyway, since I missed this one, I'm finding very little info on the web (in fact, NOTHING) showing another. Either they're coveted by their owners or they're rare. Given the selling price on this one, I'm guessing the former. Has anyone else seen one of these? If you know of one for sale, please let me know.

Thanks!

The fact that this tripod head is geared tilt and geared pan would indicate to me that it "might" be an early movie tripod. I have seen this type of tripod used in early silent movie photography.
