View Full Version : Levels on Gitzo heads

I have a new 2270 three way head. The levels are way off, i.e., when the head shows level, the camera is not level, at least not by the level built into the top of my Technika and based on the way the lines look on builidings. I got rid of the cork on the tripod head because it was too soft to get the camera tight, so I have a RRS quick release on the tripod and a plate on the camera, and they seem tight and flush to the tripod head. Are these meant to be adjusted, or is this a warranty repair issue? Or are they just decoration and I am being too picky?

Maddening, isn't it. I have a level on my Bogen legs, another one on my Gitzo head, a third on my RRS quick release, and a fourth on the camera, and rarely to they agree.

Ed,
The levels I have rarely agree just like David. So, I've resorted to one of those short levels that you can pick up from Home Depot and that's what I now rely on! :)
Works like a gem and only $6.95.

Not what I want to hear.:-) Fortunately, the one of the top of the Technika is dead on, but it is a pain to see unless I set the tripod a little shorter than optimal.
