My concentrate alkaline fixer seems to have a very short shelf life , any suggestions or is the nature of the Beast.

Which one? Even my working solutions seem to keep forever. Both TF-2 and for C-41.

its a concentrate produced by monochrome photography in the UK, it could be a mistake on my behalf of which I doubt but its effectivness seemed to drop dramatically over a 3 week period.
