I bought a zone vi 5x7 enlarger and really like it. I had been printing 4x5 and 5x7 negs with no problem. I started on project printing 6x6 negs and I noticed that the chain or gear on the mast has been stripped in one area, right at the spot needed for 120 film. Has anyone replaced the chain on the mast. I think I have a replacement number for the chain but not sure how it is mounted in the mast and how to replace it. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Can't help with the adhesive but I have the same problem in a small area on mine.
Where are you finding the chain, McMaster-Carr or ?
What is the replacement number?

Check in with Richard Ritter, he should know:
1. if the part you odentified is in fact a good fit, and
2. how to install it (I think it's glued in pace)

WM Berg may also still carry this chain.

I am having a hard time visualizing a "chain" on this enlarger... but perhaps raising your easel on a box might help?

I had the same problem some years ago and a friend of mine replace them by some stainless steel creamer He said it will stay for several lifes. It was a day of work just to glue them260413

Not sure what a creamer is, can you get your buddy to give a better description and maybe a source?
