Hey helpful peeps, I have a lovely model that wants to do art nudes with that extremely crisp striped light look. I would can it the Levelor blinds effect.
Right before Christmas, of course, all of my ads seemed to be for "spotlights" that did this but now they're all gone.
What's the usual go to for this style? 256459

Are you looking for strobe or continuous? How much power do you need?

Well, I've got two constants (300) and three strobes (300/400/400) so I should be fine on light. Looking for extreme B&W, and I have access to actual venicians. What are you thinking?
(Thanks for the reply)

An Optical Spot with a Gobo with that pattern would work. Westcott, Godox and Neewer have spot adapters that fit mostly Bowens style strobes and lights. They also have Gobo sets with different patterns. I have Norman TriLite optical spots that operate from power packs.
Personally, before messing with spots, I would be inclined to try a window and some opaque blinds, vertical or horizontal depending on the effect you want. Then use lith film if you want the two-tone effect shown in the image above.

If you use windows with blinds you will need a small light source like the sun or small light to get the hard, sharp shadows. The advantage to using a light is it won't move during the session like the sun will although the sun would be a great light source if you can work with it's movement.

These came from Ebay and I modified them to fit 300J Broncolor Impact Monolights. They came with sets of Gobos, including "Venetian Blind" types.

I've used transparency projectors in a studio to accomplish this.
