I recently acquired an unused Jobo CPP-2 processor. It, however, did not come equipped with the lift accessory. My question...is the lift really necessary, considering it will cost an additional $700 new? Also, if I order a lift, how am I certain it will fit my Jobo? It seems that the additional cost may not be worth the added benifit.

Advice appreciated.

Not *really* necessary but I couldn't imagine using my CPP-2 without the lift now. Helps raise the tank but more importantly for me, facilitates dumping and filling the tanks/drums. one caveat about lifting tanks, I always assist the lifting with my hand as the lift isn't strong enough to lift Expert drums, or even longer 15xx or 25xx tanks.

I agree with Fred. Is it necessary? Well...no. Are you gonna want it? IMO, yes. Without the lift, filling anything but the smaller 15xx tanks would be cumbersome. The time it would take to detach, dump, fill, and reattach one of the Expert Drums would make precise development impossible, IMO.

The whole point of having the Jobosystem is consistancy in processing and ease of use. The lift is a big part of this. Love your craft, get the lift.

Okay...I guess I will have to order lift. Next question, I have an unused CPP-2 with SN# 10-235. This may be an earlier production. Will a new lift fit on this versiion?

Not sure (probably?), I would ask CatLabs.

You might find a used lift.

iirc, the serial number only denotes which motor version your processor has. 2xxxxx serial numbers denote a stronger or updated motor which is supposed to handle Expert drums better. I believe some users here with 15xxxx processors have said they haven't had issues rolling Expert drums. So, the lift should be fine.

I bought a special set of low rolling resistance rollers for my CPP.

They are recommended for the CPP when using Expert Drums.

You will find the number of the required parts in the Jobo manual.

I need about 1 litre of chemicals in my 3010 tanks - and I cannot detect any signs that the motor slows or labours when I fill the tank with the 1 litre of chemicals.

I don't know if the low rolling resistance rollers are strictly necessary - but I intend to be using my CPP for several decades and would prefer not to find out the hard way.

I have those same low resistance rollers and I run the huge 3005 drum with 1.5L of solution when I have all 5 slots filled. I do own a later serial number CPP, but I’ve never noticed it straining or slowing down.

I’ve put Jobo 1509 additional rollers on mine for when I do 7x17” in a 2xxx tank with extension.

This amortises the weight across the length of the tank and takes the stress from the joint where the tank joins the processor.

The 1509 clips onto the two ridges in the Jobo reservoir.

Also, I make sure the drain on the upper reservoir is set so that the water level is as high as I can have it. Might as well have Archimedes working for me!
