View Full Version : Salutations from Perth, Western Australia!

Hoping to find some other West Aussies here, or at the very least some other Aussies who dabble in 4x5 and larger formats.

I've shot a little 4x5, slowly building up my kit along with my other film gear. This year I've shot way more film than digital, and have actually offloaded most of my digital gear now. I develop at home, using a Steerman Press 4-45 tank. Mainly black and white, but I do shoot and dev some C41. I've even just developed my first E6 large format slides, which are an absolute treat to shoot and reveal out of the tank. I can see that sending me broke, however!

I've also recently picked up a 4x5 pinhole camera, but haven't used it much as yet.

I'm looking forward to learning more, shooting a lot more and finally (hopefully) finishing a photo project or two in the coming year.

Welcome to the forum.

There are a reasonable number of forum members from Oz, you'll get to know them over time.

Nice picture of the Christmas tree. I remember seeing one or two around the Esperance area when I was working on the railway line upgrade from Kalgoorlie to Esperance in 1974.

I've just ordered some seeds to start growing my own, fingers crossed I can keep them alive if / when they sprout!

I've seen a really good online an Australian Large Format zine somewhere (which then gets lost in my links and favorites and then "rediscovered" happily from time to time), so there ought to be plenty.

There's viewcameraaustralia.org, that's about the only one I know of aside from the usual FB groups

DM them, or simply go to your settings and add your location as being Sydney.

Vaughn is well known here as being from Nth California.
