I realize that leather ones show up occasionally hither and yon, and should I stumble upon one, wunderbar! I am wondering, meanwhile, if someone makes one out of Cordura or something similar. Let me know if you know. Maybe someone makes custom such items at a reasonable price (used holders seem to go for $50-70 or so).
My need is this: After researching the subject about a year ago and poking about for alternatives, I failed to find anything in carpenter's tool belts and such that fit the bill. Either too bulky and ill-fitting or not fitting, such as a carpenter's nail & screw bag. I ended up trying out a couple of belt hooks instead, one of which I have been using. The problem is that, if I have to do a lot of walking around, the meter bounces around a good bit. No good. Maybe the digital would be less subject to impact throwing the readings off, but I treat my needled meter with tender care. A holster would solve that.
Since my work interest is primarily location portraiture, which I have finally begun doing, whatever I get needs to be padded but keeping the meter at the ready without troublesome taking out and putting back in securely.

You might consider a Zone VI belt pack. It has two pockets which close with Velcro straps. One pocket holds up to four 4x5 holders and the second is where I keep my Pentax meter. There is a slash pocket on the front where I keep my note pad & cleaning tissues. The waist belt is adjustable. I find it keeps everything I need in one convenient place. They show up on eBay occasionally.

I use a Blackrapid strap, it just screws into the tripod socket on the bottom.
It also fits pretty well into the exterior pocket of a Peak Design 30L bag.

I bought one of these for my Pentax V Digital. Works great!

I own a Pentax Digital, Pentax Spotmeter V, and the Karau case Dennis mentioned. The Digital fits snugly in the case; the Spotmeter V analog meter is somewhat larger and does not.

Thanks to all. I have a potential offer of a Zone VI holster pending.
I do have a Zone VI holder belt, but I prefer to keep that for holders.

I stopped using my Zone Vl holster when the police started shooting kids with plastic toy guns.

Try one of those leather beer can holsters. I use one for water bottles. Those don't look pistol-like.

This is exactly what I have been using till now. It's okay for certain work, but I have found a holster from a member here. Thanks.
