Linhof Fresnel resizing

I won a Linhof 4x5 fresnel off ebay. It was as advertised, but unfortunately I does not fit my older Linhof Technica III. It is too wide by about 0.5mm. Before considering selling it off, I wanted to know if there is any option of resizing/trimming the fresnel without damaging it. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

if its plastic then a very sharp craft knife and ruler wil do it. Just cut the same amount of both ends. 0.25mm? just rubbing the end down with fine emery cloth or glass paper would do that in no time if its glass.

Large format fresnels are acrylic never glass. Any plastic supply house can cut it to size or sell you the tools to do so. Just make sure the same amount of material is removed on each side so the center of the fresnel remains in the proper spot.
