I was looking up a serial number of 8D sample today.
I found this lens (not in my hands) has the interesting history supposedly.
The lens was shipped to “Philadelphia” in April 1st in 1876.
I though at first it must be an agent in Philadelphia, like McCollins.
Then I also started to look up other lenses made in the same period having the same “Philadelphia” as the destination.
It turns out the following lenses were sent mostly at the same time on April 1st, 1876. Pretty much the complete list of Dallmeyer lens line-ups.
The links of Extra Quick Acting Settings of Portrait settings are dead. But probably Dallmeyer also sent samples of 2C and 3C at the same time.

Now I see the Dallmeyer catalog in the close period, then the Dallmeyer catalog in 1881 and it says Dallmeyer was awarded the highest prize in the centennial Philadelphia exhibition in 1876.

The exhibition was held from May 10 to November 10, 1876.
The timline is now correct to say these samples were exhibited there supposedly.
