I have the opportunity to buy a quite expensive Schneider lens (SS 110 XL), but the shutter has an issue with the T mode: It opens and closes like in Bulb (B) mode. Could this be a sign of a major issue? Anyone knows about this and how to solve? Many thanks.

If everything else works reasonably well it could be signs of a rather minor issue: the shutter might just need a routine maintenance, what some folks like to call a CLA.

Before buying the lens, get in touch with a repair person familiar with Copal 1 shutters and get an estimate for a CLA.

I have often used the B in place of T with a cable release stop. If all else is working and the glass is excellent and the price is right, go for it with the understanding that you will need to spend the money for a CLA at some point.

Same thing happened to me with one of my Copal shutters. The shutter has been doing just that for going on 20 years now. I just learned to live with it.

Thanks. I will take the risk, as the lens optics and barrel look like new.
