Hi,

The ground glass on my Calumet 8x10 was broken while moving. I've never needed to replace it in the past and was wondering if 8x10 GG (exact size) will fit. I've taken measurements but it's difficult to tell since the recessed groove has a slight fillet in the recess. I am thinking of replacing it with borosilicate glass and am concerned it might not fit. Has anyone replaced their Calumet 8x10 GG?

I replaced mine with one ground from 8x10 picture frame glass, which measures 1/16 inch shorter than nominal on both axes. It looks like the retaining system can handle a decent range in size either side of that value.

You can sand glass if it's just a little shy. Wear a dusk mask and use a HEPA vac for cleanup though.

Thanks, that's what I will do.
