years ago I bought a 210mm Shneider Angulon f6.8 for use on a 7"x17". Life happened and I never bought the camera. Now I have a wish to pursue the quest, but Im having difficulty finding data to support my purchase choice.
I am poor at math, but, I came up with needing an image circle of 467mm. neither my 210mm Angulon or 305mm f9 G Claron look like they are up to the task. I would appreciate real life experiences if I am on track.
thanks Dan

New arrival, this forum's parent site -- click on LF home page at the upper left of the forum screen -- has resources that you may not be aware of.

There's one that's fairly well hidden, "the list." This is a list of links to sites of interest to, mainly, LF photographers including ones that have lens makers' propaganda etc. This includes specifications.

The first post in this https://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?138978-Where-to-look-for-information-on-LF-(mainly)-lenses discussion has a link to this list. Explore what the list has.

Yours for solidarity among Dans,

Dan

Here's a set of 7x17 pictures that Carl Weese made with the 305 G-Claron. Note that to get the extra large coverage you need to stop down to f/45.

I believe the 210 Angulon should provide adequate coverage too, but as with the 305 G-Claron, only if stopped way down.

If it's anything like the other inch formats I'd expect the outside dimension of the film to be 7x17", so the image might be around 454mm diameter, assuming around a 5mm margin around the edges...
Not much different to what you said, for practical purposes.

Angulon probably won’t do it well (if at all).

The Super Angulon definitely does, though, although it is MASSIVE.

My thanks for the help, I had a good amount of magazines that had a lot of this....until they were destroyed in a flood

Maybe

I bought a 7X17 camera long ago from a member that had a short bellows

I found a 12" that covered well

The name eludes me

small lens

I used a 7x17 for many years until problems associated with age caused me to sell both of mine.
My favorite lens was, and still is, a 10.75" Dagor at f 22. I rarely found it necessary to alter the aperture except to establish the image and focus.
Since moving down to 5x12 I haven't found a lens which satisfies me as well as the old Dagor did.

This has given me time to ponder something I over looked.....I don't deliberately shoot pano. Bought 19"x38" inkjet paper and have never used any. Has anyone else fallen in love over an idea not knowing why?
