Hi all,
I have some Rollei RPX25 film (LF|4x5 and MF|120) that I want to scan with my Epson V750 scanner and Lasersoft Silverfast 8.8. Silverfast has a feature called NegaFix that offers custom settings for many negative films. Unfortunately, Silverfast does not have a setting for Rollei RPX25. Has anyone found a setting in NegaFix that they are happy with for scanning RPX25? If so, what setting did you use?

I don't use NegaFix or shoot RPX25, but I have used Silverfast scanning software for nearly 25 years. In my experience playing around with NegaFix, I've found most (all?) of the profiles to be pretty arbitrary. That is, even if the manufacturer and film stock is listed for the film you have the profile probably won't provide the desired result. I found it best to simply choose various combos until I found something that I was satisfied with. I quickly stopped trying to use NegaFix and just manipulated the controls until I got the kind of scan I typically want. Many years ago, I stopped all that and just scan to a linear raw file and convert with the ColorPerfect plugin in PS.
Sorry, I know this doesn't provide the answers you were looking for, but, hopefully, you will draw something useful here.

I also have Silverfast and I scan my negatives as ‘positives’.
For B&W just open them in Photoshop, invert the curve. Set the black and white point, and then some contrast.
Quick and easy, and always good (for me)

Hi Alan and Patrick,
Thank you both for your suggestions. My current approach has been what Alan suggested: experiment with various profiles until I find that work kind of works. I will try what Patrick suggests and scan my negatives as 'positives' and see what happens.
