I am having a problem with my Jobo. With my expert drum attached the drive gear that goes onto the shaft coming out of the Jobo will start slipping and the drum will stop turning although the shaft is still turning. The gear is held on with a screw that goes through a brass bushing inside the gear. I don’t understand how how tightening the screw makes the bushing tighter on the shaft but I have tightened the screw as much as I can and it still slips. Do I need a new gear or am I doing something wrong?

Does it slip in both directions? On mine, it slips in one direction, but not the other so I let it rotate in just one direction. I have tried replacing the drive gear with no observable results.

Slips in both directions. I am to old to learn another way to develop 4x5 negs
The brass insert is slotted and the fingers grip the motor shaft by friction.
The more you tighten the screw in the cog, the more the brass insert retracts into the tapered hole in the cog and the fingers grip the shaft even more.
Sometimes, the addition of a small washer under the screw head can give enough movement to allow a better grip of the shaft.
