8x10 and 5x7 camera backs...mismatched pairings?

Howdy, y'all... I'm curious if anyone is aware of any mismatched combinations of 8x10 cameras and backs for the purpose of shooting 5x7.


For instance, I've been told that kodak 2D backs fit on century universal cameras... Trying to figure out what trees to start barking up.

They made them slightly different to have captive sales

Right now I tried Deardont on B&J both similar era

Both use pins, Deardorf is 12" outside corner to corner

B&J is 1/4" shorter
