I received a bargain grade Schneider 150mm f5.6 Apo-Symmar recently from KEH for my 4x5. I am having trouble mounting it to an offset Linhof board and any advice would be appreciated.

The issue is that the shutter has a small protruding screw preventing it from sitting flush with the board. I am not sure why it would be there unless it is there to accommodate a spacer which did not come with the lens and retaining ring.

Please look at the pictures below and offer your opinions - I am not sure if I should contact KEH to exchange the lens.

Thanks!

Just remove the screw.or file a notch in the board if you want to leave the screw in..

Some lens boards have a divot that the screw fits into to prevent the shutter from rotating around the board.
Bob's suggestions are the way to go.
I personally remove the offending screw.

If you remove the screw, tighten the lens on the lens board so it doesn't turn on you. A spanner wrench is required to tighten.

Fantastic- thanks all ! I should have thought of it being used as an index pin! Now I’ll know for next time.

I’ll probably remove it - I have a lens spanner to tighten it up.
