Video on Guy Bellingham's Process for Making Tintype Photographs

The fellow behind the YouTube channel Harv Video/Audio Stuff has made a detailed 23 minute video about Mr. Bellingham and his tintype process. I didn't include the video in the Resources thread, but some people may be interested in it. The camera that Bellingham uses in the video is an 8x10 Toyo with 4x5 back (don't know which model, but the back says Sakai Special Camera Mfg Co Ltd) and the lens is a 450mm f/4.5 Wallet and Hermagis petzval made in 1850. He also talks about a 360mm f/3 petzval made in 1907, and a 1924 8x10 Cooke "Knuckler" Portrait Anastigmat (4.5kg/9.9lb).

Bellingham uses a Speed Graphic Film Pack Adapter as a holder for a 4x5 wet plate, and a Sony a7R II with 60mm macro lens to make digital photos of his tintypes. Thirty of Bellingham's tintype photographs are on his website at https://guybellinghamphotography.co.uk/tintypes/

There's a brief view of some of the letters on the 360mm f/3 lens that suggests that it may be a Hugo Meyer Atelier Schnell-Arbeiter (https://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?145770-Hugo-meyer-Atelier-Schnellarbeiter-360mm-f3-petzval). If so, according to that thread it weighs 3.5kg (7.7lb).

Yes, he uses the Hugo meyer Atelier Schnellarbeiter.
The cooke is Series IIe f4.5 380mm, the last sixth generation of the cooke soft focus portrait lenses.

Apparently Bellingham used the Cooke for the self-portrait below. It was shortlisted for a UK award, which has this comment on its website: "Soft focus set to 'sharp' on the lens, touch of downwards lens tilt. Posing stand used to nail focus. Self timer."

2021 BRITISH PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS
I am absolutely delighted to announce that my self-portrait has won at the 2021 British Photography Awards. The photo was taken during the first few months of lockdown, using my newly built 16″x16″ camera.

It’s been a tough year for everyone, but particularly hard for those in the performing arts.

My aim was to show solidarity with the incredible community of artists, musicians, actors and performers who had not only lost their income but their audience too. I tried to show this sense of loss through a single image. These people spend their life bringing joy to others, to celebrate life through sharing their talents and bringing people together.

To be awarded this prestigious accolade for this photo I hope brings attention to the plight of all performing artists. These incredible people deserve to be applauded, respected and celebrated, and I will continue to do my best to support and elevate these wonderful artists, as best I can, through my work.
