Wollensak Studio Shutter repair question - there is a little screw at 7:00. I loosened it quite a bit but didn't seem to have any effect on the big round ring. It looks like it's purpose might be related to the threaded lens holder ring. I want to take it apart to clean so how does the big disk come off?

I'm guessing you have to unscrew the threaded lens holder ring?

The Studio shutter seems simple, but I have not been able to find a repairman willing to undertake repair. One highly recommended in California didn't even open it up before returning it with a restatement of the problem I had fully explained prior to shipping it.

I took apart a broken one

Then put it right back together

The whole device is a flimsy trick

The trouble really is some lenses need it as spacer

and I didn't have a flange

I undertake work on Studio shutters. The limiting factor is replacement parts. But, if a CLA or modest repair is all that’s needed, Studio shutters can be effective and very reliable. I have half a dozen operating beautifully within arm’s reach. I confess these are later versions than the OP’s, with which I have less experience.
