I'd like to clarify something about this article. It is not current. It was published by the Financial Times on February 18th, six days before the invasion. The writer, Polina Ivanova, says on her Twitter account that she is shocked by what has happened since, including in Lviv, which is now engulfed in the refugee crisis precisely because it's on the Polish border. Indeed, many residents of Lviv itself have fled to Poland.

The gentleman with the camera is referred to in this sentence: "One street performer in the city said he sensed no fear or panic among the passers-by he stopped to photograph in the city’s main square."

Nobody should get the idea that that's what's happening in Lviv today. The very real concern is that Russia will try to stop western countries from getting supplies to Ukraine, which will come via Poland, by attacking Lviv. The city is in the process of constructing defences against the Russian army.
