I love Graflex.org but its forums and search functions are abit funky, so I'll post here instead.

Who is still able to adjust and repair the Super D Graflex SLRs? I hate to sound crase, but I know a lot of the old-timers are moving on to the grand darkroom in the sky, and I'm wondering if there is a viable, professional service that can still work on these old beauties? I hate to send mine off to some private individual and have it sit around for six months... I rather pay a fair price for for good service and not impose on somebody.

I'd really like to find a professional business that takes credit cards, has a website, and answers email (a tall order in the LF community!)

Frank,

You might check with Richard Ritter at www.lg4mat.net.

You could contact Ken Ruth at Photography on Bald Mountain (http://www.baldmtn.com/) He claimed that he could replace a shutter curtain on my Home Portrait Graflex. I haven't gotten around to sending it to him yet, so I can't report from experience. He does answer e-mails; don't know about credit cards.

These guys sell referbished models so they must either fix them or know who does.

I sent an email to Jeff Kay earlier today to ask about that. I'll report back here if he responds.

I posted a moment too soon -just got a response from Jeff Kay. Unfortunately, he reports that they do their own overhauls in-house, but don't offer that as a service for others.

Oh yes, for those who don't recognize the name, Jeff Kay is the Lens and Repro guy.

Yeah, I know Jeff but his prices are always on the high side. Like double for a lot of lenses and cameras that come up on eBay.

Thanks. Fred sounds like the man for Graflex and I'm glad he is still active.
