This is a follow up to a thread on how to support a Technika with a long lens. I found a 6 inch RRR rail with two attaching screws. I used it to bridge the body and bed tripod adapters. The camera is already stiff, but this helps and makes for much better tripod balance. If the technika was a little loose, this would really tighten it up. It is a bit of a pain to take on and off to fold the camera, but might be worth it for an occasional use of a long lens.

Manfrotto makes a long lens support. It is adjustable in length and has a ball head at one end a clamp for the tripod leg at the other.

This makes a very stable long lens support second only to two tripods.
