I was recently called a "tog", which is short for "photographer".
I don't know how to feel about this. Should I be insulted or proud? What do you bloody, dirty Togs think?

Hello Frank,
In what context was the term used?
I mean, was the term "scum" used in the same sentence?
Or was the context something like, "I've always wondered what it would be like to meet an actual 'tog.' "
Cheers!

Frank,
Start an online journal about it - a "tog blog". Sorry, couldn't resist.

I find it interesting that whenever I do a commercial gig, I am always called "the photographer", regardless of how many times I introduce myself.
I even picked up a briefcase I had repaired by a store owner who had hired me for photos. On the repair ticket instead of my name was "photographer".
I guess there are worse things to be called...
Tog? Now that's insulting! :)

I think you misunderstood. I think they actually said "Trog", short for troglodite.

I've been called "photog" before but never just "tog!" :)
Hmmm... not sure what to think of that one.
But, if that's the worse you've been called.... I wouldn't think it to be a big deal!

Hey, at least you weren't called "that sodomite shit tog" :) THEN you'd know it was an insult.

Well I guess it's better than being called a "Phot".

"I think they actually said "Trog", short for troglodite."
Hmmm... Maybe those of us still using film should be refered to as "photroglophers"?

Frank were you wearing the burka when you were called a tog?
Well I've never been called a tog, but a lady friend did refer to me as a toad once.

Come on Frank, set a good example. You know who/what you are...does it make any difference what the others opinion is?

You misunderstood, they didn't call you a tog, they called you a dog. And yes, you should be insulted. Even though dogs are wonderful beings it still isn't considered a compliment to be called one.
