View Full Version : Wireless Flash Trigger Mounting Ideas for LF
Is there a known good solution for holding up the wireless flash trigger when connected via a wire to a shutter?
The one I have is meant to mount in a hot shoe.

I use round Velcro dots, not too damaging and one set has lasted long time
I also put the PC Buff inside the bellows on the back of the lens board and connect it to Packard Shutter
Make sure you cover the red led with gaff tape, if inside

I dangle mine off the tripod knobs. Keeps it out of the way and secure.

I use a cheap clamp I found on amazon. It gives you a lot of possible mounting locations.
I have it connected to my packard shutter in this poor photograph.

Sinar accessory shoe mount & Sinar shutter with a shoe mounted wireless flash Xmitter. Can be mounted/adjusted on three sides of the front standard or 4x5 rear frame.

i took the hot shoe off of a junk camera and glued neodymium magnets to the bottom with some faux leather to add a bit of grip.

My clockmaker friend turned this maple plug, I attached a cold shoe. Here attached is a Broncolor Infared Trigger. The other end plugs into the sync plug on the Norma shutter. The plug fits tightly inside the Norma Basic Rail
Works great
Thanks for the ideas! There are a lot of cheap cold shoe options on amazon. I was thinking of buying one and making a mount for it to the camera.
Bernice, could you tell me how the Sinar shoe mounts to the standard?
I see these slots in the sides of the standards:

And this is one of the shoes (photos from ebay):

I don't understand how the shoe is actually held by the slot. Is there a missing screw in the one from ebay?

Since my transmitter is so lightweight and I shoot flash in studio
I often just drape the cord

The Sinar accessory shoe mount should have a stud on the back side of the mounting screw. This stud fits into the slot on the Sinar standard. screw on the top secures the accessory shoe mount to where it would like to reside.

If the screw/stud is missing, serious problem as that is not an off the shelf item. Replacement would need to be made by on a machine tool.
