Look at the 3rd portrait. Is it a large format?

Wikipedia on the photographer, Paolo Roversi: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paolo_Roversi

Pace Gallery Page: https://www.pacegallery.com/artists/paolo-roversi/

He uses an 8x10 Deardorf and is known for 8x10 Polaroids.

The photo is also on Roversi's Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/roversi/

The Daily Mail, of all papers, published a lengthy article about this shoot two days ago: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-10383533/Who-Paolo-Roversi-trtendy-Italianphotographer-Kate-Middletons-stunning-portraits.html

There's a good deal of information about Roversi and his work on the internet.

Vanessa Friedman, Fashion Director of the NY Times, has also written an article about these photos. The NY Times is behind a paywall, but has limited non-subscriber access: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/10/style/catherine-duchess-of-cambridge-birthday-portraits.html

The Duchess looks like a Vogue model. Was that the point? All I see is the photographer and not the person. Not to my liking.

No. There's quite a lot going on in those photographs. This is one place to start:

Speaking to Italian magazine, Corriere Della Sera, Roversi recalled the shoot where he took ‘250 shots, almost all in black and white’.
