Ha! Love that shot. Is that an old Beemer?
Like a lot of you I suspect, when a camera was involved you were generally behind it and not in front of it.
If I'm honest, I have always had a soft spot for this one of me. Speaks to me of growing up in Scotland and I still wear the kilt on days where I just feel like wearing the kilt.

A few years back, I edited a book of short stories for a small publishing house. I learned that one of the authors I'd selected lived in a nursing home down in Massachusetts. At the time, I lived in Vermont, so as part of an author signing, I took 50 copies of the book down to him to sign. We lost him just a few weeks later. He was a nice man.

Dude Ranch vacation, approx. 50+ years ago.
I showed this about 5 years ago...ran across it recently, so it is so far my 2022 favorite photo of me.
Spokane Valley, Washington, 1980, 6'4", 210 or so pounds, 26 yrs old.
4x5 Rajah -- exact copy of a Deardorf without the quality.
I would soon hitchhike for 3 months in NZ with this set-up, and come home with almost no good negatives due to a light leak.

Reminds me of my 1975 75/5. I had the other tank though.

Taken about 1999-2000 and posted on LFPF soon after. Published in the 2001-2001 Missouri State Manual. Probably 4x5 Kodak Professional Copy Film 4125 with an Ektar 203mm f/7.7. I was too lazy to re-shoot to eliminate the shadow on my left sleeve and to get more light on the right sleeve. We should always re-shoot if necessary to get the best possible negative instead of trying to correct our mistakes later.

Not just any Tektronix 7000, that is a Tek 7104, 1Ghz real time O'scope with the micro channel CRT. One of my all time fave O'scopes.

Yes the chute did open, they’re actually pretty reliable and open all most every time. :) I should add that was the my last BASE jump, figured that I should quit while I was ahead.

A newspaper clipping from Detroit's East Side Shopper dated Wednesday, July 2. 1958. I still have this newspaper clipping. Since this photo was taken in 1958, it was probably made with a 4x5 press camera.

Impressive home lab, Bernice, and nice photographs of the setup. The scopes I used were always my employer's property. I never used a 7104 but I used a 2467B with the microchannel plate. I used to call it the "Magic Screen" (with a hat tip to PeeWee Herman) because you could see things with it that were otherwise completely invisible. It was a beautiful instrument. Eventually in my last job I used a Tek gigabit/second digital sampling scope. I have to say it was great for some things, but I don't know if I'd trust one to see the quick one-off glitches that can cause those mysterious intermittent problems.
I could be wrong about that, and I probably am. But I'm retired now, so it doesn't matter.

It was a nice day at the Rock Store, and the other roads in the area. Although this was a few years back, I recall the views from some of the canyon roads were spectacular as always.

Vaughn,

No...just growing up swimming in the ocean, tho this is pretty early on. Hours body-surfing at a time. I have a memory from this particular trip of being sucked towards the shore-break by the retreating water down the steep slope of the sand. We usually hit the beaches to the south...Laguna or San Clemente.
An 8x10 contact, Laguna Beach, late 90s probably. The old guy in dark clothing and white hat stopped to comment while I was setting the 8x10 up, "Too bad the palm trees are there." I laughed, and waited for him to show up below. My great Aunt had a beach house on the boardwalk here -- condemned by the city and the park constructed. I played basketball here a couple times before the knees went.

Wow. This is main beach and I swam from Shaw's Cove to the buoy of this beach and then back to Shaw's this morning. 1.8 miles and 56 degree of water. Love this beach.

Sounds good, are there many people during these days? I would like to go when the beach so not very crowded, because I hate being among huge crowds of people. I am already imagining this trip, and also saw some cool cliparts on ClipartCycle (https://clipartcycle.com) with beach thematic, and now I wanna go even more. The cliparts are amazing though, I downloaded a lot of them already, because they are free and in high resolution, just perfect to use them.
