Hello I've looked on eBay, gumtree and Facebook and can't seem to find anything, what is there seems way too expensive. Does anybody know where I can find Dichroic kit, that isn't too expensive?

Many thanks

David

Until you find an enlarger have a look here for darkrooms in the U.K.

you could get a non-dichroic enlarger and convert it to rgb led.

I bought mine from a guy on this UK forum

Worth putting a WTB on there and also maybe the UKLF forum

Try also searching in traditional, local auction houses that have general sales. Most of them are on-line now. They often have odd photographic items squeezed in. I picked a up a de Vere 504 at one of these following a chance search. Also look out on the usual auction sites for enlargers by the name of Lines & Jones. I bid on one but missed out. They had a cold cathode system but with that type you could then probably adapt it to the Intrepid light source and filter system, whcih is what I had planned to do. And that is another option too, the Intrepid system, if you can acquire a good stand and use 4x5 camera for the lens.

also local high schools n colleges that once offered photography before digital. they may still have a basement full of old equipment.

i lucked out watching classifieds on photo forums offering free for pick up moving out deals... "come take my junk."

@Davidar, they are out there. This week I picked up a lpp 7450 (like new with all accessories boxed), lenses and everything else for only £250. Often eBay isn't great as people over estimate the value of some of these enlargers. I recommend just refreshing facebook daily and jumping off of anything on there. Where abouts are you based?

Hi. Not sure if that helps: you could check MrCad (https://www.mrcad.co.uk/) (London) or secondhanddarkroom (https://www.secondhanddarkroom.co.uk/). Good luck.

+1 for secondhanddarkroom, it’s the first place I look for darkroom stuff. Also, if you don’t see what you need on the website it’s worth giving him a call.

This place has a secondhand and special-offer section, though I think they moved it to their ebay store. They have the Nova-Darkroom products, in case you want new stuff too.

What do you recommend for this. Are lED that good? Aren’t normal LEDs not that good colour wise compared to tungsten unless it’s COB?
