Before I spend the money on mounting this lens for my 8x10 Toyo, does anyone know if the Toyo recessed lensboard will cause vignetting with the 159mm F9.5 Wollensak Series III WA?

I don't know about the geometry of the 159 Wolly, but board measurements might help. The recessed 159mm Toyo board I have has a total depth of about 40mm, with 25mm square to the inside flat surface, then an angled section out to the front surface. The inside flat surface measures about 115mm square.

I mounted a Protar V in a recessed lensboard without any vignetting, but it is a slightly longer lens; about 190mm I believe.

The Wollensak 159 intercepts an angle of 100 degrees wide open. You can use this with the measurement of the depth of the board to determine if vignetting will occur. I suspect that it is very close.

My preference is a flat lens board with this lens and then I know I will not have a problem.

A flat lens board is ideal, if it is possible. The reason I ended up putting my lens in a recessed board is that without it bellows compression and vignetting by the bellows was a problem. The recessed board, by effectively moving the lens back into the bellows about 50mm solves the problem on my camera.
