I have the 12" Gundlach Turner-Reich triple convertible lens, and I'd like to find a lens shade for it. The front group is threaded, and my calipers measure just shy of 53mm (on the interior threaded surface), but I'd like confirmation of the hood thread size, if possible. Any of you know for sure what I can use on this lens? Thank you.

I don't believe the threads are filter threads. I believe they are used to assemble the lens.

Measure the outside diameter and use a series filter adapter.

Like this, on a Gundlach Radar:

221259

Thanks, one other person suggested the same thing.

They aren’t on the Anastigmat. Lens installs from the rear. The threads on that lens are primarily for control of stray light.

Brian’s suggestion is your best bet, Paul

Thank you Jason. This is the option I will pursue! Much appreciated.
